Vigo is pleased to report that it has advised on two of AIM’s largest recent transactions which have raised over £620 million for two clients in the energy and TMT sectors.
The agency supported Hurricane Energy plc, the UK based oil and gas company with the largest undeveloped discovery on the UK continental shelf, on its $530 million fundraising; as well as advising CityFibre plc, a leading designer, builder, owner and operator of fibre optic infrastructure in UK towns and cities, on its £215 million fundraising and concurrent acquisition of Entanet.
Hurricane’s fundraising comprised $300 million of equity and $230 million of convertible bonds. It is the largest fundraising for a pre-production E&P company listed on the London Stock Exchange in recent years. The proceeds will be used to fund the company’s Early Production System at its Lancaster field, West of Shetland.
Proceeds from CityFibre’s £215 million raise will be used to fund the expansion of its fibre network into at least 50 cities across the UK by 2020, including commencing the roll-out of its Fibre to the Home network. The £29 million acquisition of Entanet, a leading provider of wholesale communications services, will also bring over 1,500 channel partners into the group.
Patrick d’Ancona, Managing Director, commented:
“Against a volatile market backdrop, to advise our clients on two of the most significant fundraisings on London’s junior market is a real testament to Vigo’s standing within two of our sector specialisms – energy and TMT. We look forward to continuing our close work with our existing clients as well as further broadening our reach in the second half of 2017.”
The Hurricane Energy team at Vigo is led by Patrick d’Ancona and Ben Simons and the CityFibre team is led by Jeremy Garcia and Fiona Henson.
