Of all the world’s largest economies, only the UK is aiming for the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C goal. Its pledge to cut carbon emissions 81% by 2035 is the only plan submitted so far that’s anywhere close to consistent with the Paris target, with 70% of world’s biggest economies missing the deadline to submit their plans to the UN.
